You Don't Know What Will Hit

"Never ASSUME, because when you ASSUME, you make an ASS of U and ME." Jerry Belson, The Odd Couple

With all your experience, your positive results, and your growing numbers, you still can't predict whether a campaign, a feature, or a product will land or crash.

And your message or copy won't last forever. That's just the nature of this.

Data helps. Experience helps. They get you to better decisions and more educated bets. Certainty? Not available.

Of course, you can throw budget at it. Lean on brand loyalty. Build the kind of community that buys whatever you release. That helps too.

But still :)

Which means the real job is to experiment fast, gather signal, and make go/no-go calls quickly. Test. Learn. Adapt. Repeat.

Get out and talk to your users. Listen for the signals, filter out the noise. Pull your peers in for outside perspective. And keep approaching everything with a beginner's mind, because the things you don't know you don't know are exactly where the good stuff is hiding.
