Get In There and Experiment

Get In There and Experiment

There comes a time - many times and often - when you have more than a few ideas, directions, and activities to run, and you simply don't know which to go for.

Should you do X, or start with Y? What about taking X and doing it this way, or looking at Y from that angle, or both, or...

Whatever!

Choices and choices - that's the fun part of those marketing headaches :)

Since we don't know what will hit, we need to get in there, experiment, and gather the details, data, and feedback to understand how we can improve. We need to get things moving, adopt a sense of urgency, and fail fast to figure out whether to invest more time, budget, or resources in a direction - or scrap it and try another.

Without actually running those activities and experimenting on your ideas, you're just planning, staying in the dark on whether those directions will bring you any closer to what you want to achieve.

Besides, experiments can be a lot of fun, quick to run, and extremely helpful in generating far more info for far more educated decisions - even if they end up as duds.

So get in there, get your hands dirty, have a bit of fun, get the data you need...and on to the next experiment.
