You may have listed your personas neatly and confirmed your product solves their problem perfectly. But do you really know what they're going through?

Do you really know what a day in their life is truly like?

Sure, you're hoping to make their job easier, faster, more productive, or less expensive. But that's not the only thing on their mind, and it's probably not what they're thinking about when you actually meet them.

Beyond pitching your value proposition and defining their pains and gains, you need to dig into their day: find out their motivations and try walking in their shoes.

By genuinely empathizing with your users, you can better understand their process and their daily reality, and beyond fine-tuning your message and copy, you can approach them at the right moment, in the right place, with the right pitch.

It isn't that you can't help them. It's that they need to be open for it, ready for it, and it needs to fit contextually within their day.
