My mama always said, life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.

– Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks)

You never know where and who will inspire your next great copy.

It could be you’ll be toiling away in front of a blank screen, writing a little, then writing some more, then cutting it down to end up with an amazing slogan, ad, or tagline.

Possibly you’ll share your thoughts with a friend and their response will ignite a new direction you haven’t thought of, or you may simply end up taking their words and saying them a tad differently.

Perhaps even a team brainstorming session will bring out some remarkable ideas, and you will end up using (and feeling slightly jealous) that the stunning, wonderful, and powerful copy direction was given by none other than that colleague you don’t get along with.

Heck, you may simply start writing some nonsense down and improvise to great copy.

Whatever it may be that will provide the inspiration for your next great copy should be embraced with open arms, as great copy is just short of a love story – it’s beautiful, impactful, and hopefully long-lasting.

To sum up: be happy with great copy, no matter where the inspiration comes from.
